About Library Technologies, Inc.

Since its inception, Library Technologies, Inc. (LTI) has provided the highest quality database preparation and authority control services.A privately held company with a strong service orientation, Library Technologies, Inc. prides itself on competitive pricing, fast turn-around time, and accommodating the special needs of client libraries. We recognize the customer's financial investment in its database and the importance of those records to the library's mission. LTI stands behind its services and promptly responds to any variation between the agreed upon specifications and the post-processed records.

Library Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Dr. James Schoenung and Robert Kepple, both of whom have extensive prior experience in meeting the automation needs of libraries. Dr. Schoenung and Mr. Kepple continue to be the principals in the company, supported by a staff of professional librarians and programmers.

Over the years, LTI has authorized over 200 million bibliographic records for hundreds of libraries. Annually, LTI authorizes about 25 million records via batch or backfile processing. Our LTI Client Libraries lists some of the libraries with whom we've worked.

LTI has worked with a wide variety of local system vendors, including: Ameritech Library Services, Best-Seller Library Systems, CARL Systems, Carlyle, CLSI, Comstow, Cuadra Associates, DOBIS, DRA, DYNIX, Endeavor Information Systems Inc., Ex Libris (USA) Inc., Follett, Gaylord, Geac, General Automation, HORIZON, INLEX, Innovative Interfaces Inc., The Library Corporation, multiLIS, NSC, Polaris Library Systems, Sagebrush Technologies, SIRSI, SydneyPLUS, TechLib Plus, Utlas, and VTLS.

Library Technologies, Inc. has evolved to become the only authority control specialist in the library automation marketplace. We do not develop or maintain a local system, nor do we perform retrospective conversion, record enhancements, or other cataloging services. We are a small company and stick to our knitting-focusing all software development on creating the most advanced batch and continuing authority control linking procedures of any library database vendor. LTI continues to improve its authorization services in linking controlled headings to Library of Congress authority records and takes satisfaction in delivering the highest link rates in the authority business.
